Outgrowing "My to do list"

Hallo my dear reader,
I know you are now saying to yourself, "Finally! He has remembered his blog". Very true. It has been ectic, to say the least. I have been literally taken into bondage by duties that I have had no time to write and post here. I have this post titled "Outgrowing my to do list" because that is what I have gone through in these days.

First, the year began with the visit of our General Superior, who was here with us for the Consecration of the Altar and the blessing of the Church of St. Stephen the Martyr, Kisarawe. Then, it goes without saying that such an occasion needed thorough preparations.

Secondly, I had been asked by my community to represent them on the Priestly ordination of Nicholas Mukembu, SSC, just a week after the inaugural events in Tz. That was to be so soon that I had no time to update my blog.

The third reason why I have been away from this page for long is the departure of Form 6 students of Minaki High School, Pwani. These students have been a very active part of the Youth groups and the parish community in general. With their exams this month, most of them have been asking for moments of dialogue as they leave the High school level into the world. Such as been my schedule. Due to this, I have learned how to ignore my to do list.

Is it ignoring really? Not quite. I have outgrown my to do list because while every evening I wrote down what to accomplish the next day, impromptu meetings and duties outside the list have forced me to adjust many activities and even postpone some indefinitely.
It seems to me that my own taste for order has been given a "rough polishing" all in order to help me see the importance of having people involved in planning my day.
With people passing by to say bye, I am learning to see with the eyes of love, with a clean vision. They demand nothing but a chance to say thank you, to say how much grateful they are for all they have been offered by our generosity. They come with a big smile and a heavy heart. A smile because they have accomplished their dreams, and a heavy heart because they have to say the dreaded word, "Kwaheri. Bye."
Meanwhile, I don't know what to say. I have discovered that when someone says "Bye" in the best way he/she knows how, I do not know what to say at all. I look at them and say nothing. But then, they want to hear something.

St. Joseph B Cottolengo, who they all have come to love says something about love. It suffers silently and serves joyfully. I believe it.
